Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I am super excited to be a part of the Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop today! I am a huge fan of both companies and I loved having the opportunity to blend them together.

This design would be great for Valentine's Day or other occasions throughout the year. It could be used for a romantic themed or a friendship card. I prefer to make cards that are not specifically meant for one occasion to keep in my stash. This allows me to have a wider range of cards to be able to send out.

For my card today, I created a sweet scene using several Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps stamp sets. To begin, I stamped images from the Mae the Mouse, Piece of Cake, To My Butter Half, Snow Buddies, and Whatcha Saying Now stamp sets using a dark brown hybrid ink. I then colored them using Copic Markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

For the background, I die cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock using the largest die in the Imperial Stitched Rectangles Dies. I masked the edges using Memo Tape to keep a white border around the edge of the scene. To create the wall, I masked off the top portion of the card and used the Brick By Brick Stencil. I blended on Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink using a blending brush. I then pounced on Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks using a Ranger Blending Foam to add texture to the bricks. For even more interest, I flicked on diluted Abandoned Coral and Copic White using a small paint brush. Next, I masked off the line separating the wall from the bottom of the front panel. I ink blended Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks onto this section. I then flicked on diluted Vintage Photo and a gold watercolor from the Gansai Tambi Starry Nights Palette.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed "We belong together" from the To My Butter Half stamp set in white onto dark brown cardstock and used the coordinating die to cut it out. (I love that there is a die for the sentiments!) I adhered the images to the background panel using foam tape and liquid glue. To finish the design, I added some red heart embellishments from the Sweethearts Clay Hearts.
