Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight - Comic Sayings
Hi! I am back today with an underwater card showing off a new stamp set from Mama Elephant. Comic Sayings is chocked full of sentiments for different occasions. Let me just start off by saying how versatile it is! I saw this as a perfect opportunity to ink up a couple of other sets that I had in stash that I haven't had a chance to use yet. I hope that you like it!
To start my card, I stamped images from Little Mermaiden Agenda and Mermaid Kisses and colored them using Copic Markers. I then used the coordinating creative cuts to die cut them out.
Next, I trimmed a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock down to fit behind the Slim Comic Strip die cut. Using Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon Oxide Inks, I ink blended the panel. I then used a wave stencil to add more interest to the background and flicked on some Mermaid Lagoon for good measure. For the sandy bottom, I again used Bristol Smooth Cardstock and cut two sloping pieces using the Landscape Trio - Creative Cuts. I ink blended the pieces using Antique Linen and Vintage Photo and flicked on Vintage Photo using a small paint brush.
I stamped a sentiment from Mermaid Kisses at the top of the background panel using the same brown ink that I stamped the images with. For the speech bubbles, I stamped several sentiments from Comic Sayings onto white cardstock and die cut them out using Let's Chat - Creative Cuts. I also die cut the corresponding bubbles again from the same grey cardstock that I used for the frame to create a shadow for the speech bubbles. As a finishing touch, I added some iridescent bubbles to the scene.
