Lawn Fawn Blog Post: Little Fireflies Magic Picture Changer

Hello! I hope that everyone enjoyed Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week! I am thrilled to be sharing a card that I made using the recently released Magic Picture Changer Die Set! I showed this over on my Instagram account on February 25, 2019. When Kelly Marie from Lawn Fawn asked if she could use it on the Lawn Fawn blog, I was so excited!

I created this card because I love the Magic Picture Changer Die Set. The possibilities for creating fun scenes are endless. I only rave over products that truly blow me away and that I simply adore. If you have followed me for any time at all, you probably have seen that I also have a deep love for Lawn Fawn's Double Slider Surprise Die Set and Lawn Fawn's Reveal Wheel Die Set. They're amazing! Well the Magic Picture Changer Die Set is right up there with it.

This idea popped into my head and I was so excited to try it! I love the mason jar from the How You Bean? stamp set. Anything with a mason jar makes my heart happy. Add in some super adorable fireflies and toads and I am one happy girl! I laid the mason jar image over the square window on the front panel die from  Magic Picture Changer Add-On Die Set to see if it would frame the sliding windows without interfering with the actual sliding motion and it did!

When you pull the pull tab up, the lid comes off, releasing one of the little fireflies. To make the lid move, I attached a piece of acetate that I cut to the width of the tab on the pull portion of the mechanism and adhered the top of it behind the pull tab. I made it long enough to attach to the backside of the lid, so that when the tab is pulled, the lid slides with it.

For even more fun, I used Lawn Fawn's Glow-in-the-Dark embossing powder on vellum for the stars, the pull tab arrow, and the light circles behind the fireflies bums. I heat embossed the sentiment using Lawn Fawn's White Embossing Powder and heat set it. I then inked up the "GLOWS" with Lawn Fawn Clear Ink and sprinkled the Glow-in-the-Dark powder and heat set that as well. This way, the sentiment would read clearly, but still glow in the dark. Below is a picture of what glows on the card.

I hope that you have found some inspiration here today. Thank you for stopping by and for your encouragement and sweet comments! Please visit the Lawn Fawn blog for a complete list of supplies that I used to make this card. Have a great day!

  2. I love it when someone finds a different way to use a die set. I already loved the picture changer dies, but this versatility makes it a true winner. Your card is wonderful.
