Mama Elephant Designer Series

Hello again! This is Megan Quinn and I am so honored to be back guesting for Mama Elephant this month! I hope that you have loved the May release as much as I do and that you have enjoyed seeing the amazing samples that the design team has created to share with you.

The card that I created for today features the new My Pet Puppies Stamp Set and Creative Cuts. (These puppy images stole my heart as soon as I laid eyes on them! Who could resist those sweet faces?)

The inspiration for my card came from hearing friends talk about their pets crossing the rainbow bridge when they pass away. Losing a pet is such an incredibly difficult time. I can't think of a better way to let someone know that you are thinking of them than to make them a card. It's like a paper hug, right? These gestures are especially important now in the time of social distancing.

To create my card, I began by building the background. I die cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock using the stitched rectangle from the Slim Card Basics Creative Cuts and ink blended clouds using a stencil and pale blue ink. I then die cut a second piece of Bristol Cardstock and a piece of vellum using the cloud shaped die included in the Slim Card Basics Creative Cuts for the bottom of the card to make the foreground.

To give the puppies a place to stand, I stamped the images with clouds from the Wish Upon A Star Stamp Set and die cut them using the coordinating Creative Cuts. For the rainbow bridges, I used the Rainbow High Creative Cuts and colored them using Copic Markers. As a final touch, I used stars from the Wish Upon A Star Stamp Set and placed them across the card front.
