Heffy Doodle - Sealy Friends Birthday Pull Tab Slider Card

 

Hello friends! I am delighted to be back with you today for another installment of Make it Move, with Megan Quinn. I have created a fun birthday themed design to share with you today that will definitely help make anyone's birthday brighter. Let's get started! 

I really love combining different stamp sets to create scenes and today's card is no different. I used Sealy Friends, A Little Shellfish, You Go, Gull, Purrfect Day, Fluffy Puffy Unicorn, Whatcha Saying Now, and Interactively Yours Stamp Sets. (Whew! That's a lot!) One of my favorite things about Heffy Doodle is that all of their products are so easy to use with one another.

   

To create this card, I began by choosing images that I wanted to use. I stamped them out on Alcohol Marker Friendly Cardstock using a brown hybrid ink and colored them using Copic Markers. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. 

For the scene building elements, I began by die cutting two of the largest and two of the third largest rectangles from the Imperial Stitched Rectangles Dies from Bristol Smooth Cardstock. From one of the largest rectangles, I die cut the sandy ocean floor using Breaking Waves Border Dies. I then masked off the edges of that piece using Heffy Memo Tape and ink blended Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks. To give the panel a bit of texture, I flicked on some diluted Vintage Photo and Gansai Tambi Starry Colors Watercolor using a small paintbrush.

   

For the water elements, I used the Silver Linings Cloud Border Dies to die cut one of the smaller rectangles. Once again, I masked the edges off that panel and the main background panel and ink blended Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink onto them. I then flicked on diluted Peacock Feathers and Copic White to give the illusion of depth. 

Lastly, for the sky portion of the sliding panel, I masked the edges off and blended on Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. (I find it easier to get a softer blend of color using the regular Distress Inks. That is what I wanted on this panel to create more contrast from the water.) I used the Cloudy Skies Stencil and a blender brush to make the puffy clouds.

   

I adhered the images to the panels using a mix of liquid glue, foam tape, and glue dots. I used 3mm Deep Foam Tape to form the track for the sliding panel on the back of the main panel and adhered the main panel to a piece of Simply Teal-icious cardstock.
